SOCIETY AND DRUG REHABILITATION


Drug Rehab is a process by which a person is made ready to shun his dependency on substances like alcohol, heroin, cocaine etc.  The prolong usage of such substances by a person brings in the dependency on drugs and make addict function normally under influence of the drug. Adaptation towards the usage of drugs is generally are consequence of bad working and social environments.Drug treatment thus needs to address two aspects- Physical and Psychological. In Physical addiction treatment involves slow detoxification of physical body.
The pace of the process is required to be cautiously regulated to minimize the withdrawal affects. Any haste in process may create problem with the already drug adapted brain. In psychological drug treatment the person is used to train to accommodate with the new non compelling environment. Such treatment also encourages patients from keeping away with the cause environment such as addict friends and stressing work environment.
The addiction treatment also subject patient to observe the changes in his behavior with intention to motivate him and train the brain to accept the changed environment quickly. Involvement of family in treatment has observed to bring in speedy recovery and relived the addict with consequent physical, financial, psychological and social problems besides rehabilitating him in socially acceptable position.
